Lauren Rose Crace was born on May 25, 1986 to Jim Crace in Birmingham, West Midlands. She attended Swanhurst School in Billesley and later Cadbury Sixth Form School were she took a GCSE and an A-Level in Drama. For college she attended the Selly Park Technology College for Girls. At the age of eleven she joined the Stage 2 Youth Theatre. She later trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Lauren’s first acting roles were as an extra in various television shows and a variety of roles in theatre productions. In 2008 she joined the cast of BBC’s EastEnders as Danielle Jones, with her first episode airing on August 18, 2008. Her last true appearance on the soap was April 2, 2009 when her character tragically died after being struck by a car. Danielle’s death prompted over 15,000 people to sign a petition to bring her back.
Since her departure fro EastEnders, Lauren has returned to her roots of theatre and appeared in an episode of Sherlock.
